Summary: This is a part-time Accounting Staff position with the opportunity to become full-time at a non-profit organization providing housing, adult education and food assistance. The successful candidate will assist the Operations Manager track budgets and restricted funds for private and public grants, as well as assist in the preparation of financial and billing reports. Additional duties include assistance to the Bookkeeper and Donor Receipting staff.
Key Duties: Assisting with operational and grant budgets, cost and variance analyses, allocation of overhead expenses, cash management, Audit work papers, Federal Single Audit Schedules, review of monthly financial and billing reports, and compilation of grant performance reports.

Attendance: 20 hours depending on deadlines.

Qualifications: Proficiency with QuickBooks Reports and Advanced Excel skills (i.e. Pivot Tables, Lookups ).
Education: Accounting degree preferred.
Highly Desired Qualities: A commitment to serve the needs of others. A knowledge of Federal, State and County Level Programs for Homelessness/Housing, Adult Education and Food Security Programs at the is highly desirable. A knowledge of Federal Register for HUD and DOE Grants
Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 80% of the time. Constantly operate computer and other office equipment including copiers and printers. Occasionally ascend/descend stairs and position self to access financial records.
