How Can Your Congregation Help This Ministry?

 Pray regularly

Prayer for our program participants is always welcome, as well as for our staff, volunteers and the overall organization as we all work together to provide help and offer hope to our brothers and sisters in need.

Volunteer

Many opportunities for hands-on experiences with Keystone are available for all ages including: clerical and office help, property clean up, gardening, repairs, transportation provider, special events planning and implementing, holiday program help, food pantry sorting and stocking, tutoring and more. We can’t do it without your help. Become an Inter-faith Hospitality Network Host or Buddy congregation. Consider joining either the Indian Valley or Upper Bucks Inter-Faith Hospitality Network by opening your church facility for lodging and meals or volunteering as a Buddy congregation.

Volunteer Roles

Dinner Volunteers

Needed every evening, approximately between 5:45 PM and 7:30PM Families and/or individuals bring the evening meal and eat with the participant families. Dinner volunteers stay at the church until the overnight volunteers arrive. Participant families are responsible for setting the table and cleaning up after the meal. A prayer should be said before the meal.

Overnight Volunteers

Two volunteers are needed every night to “sleep over” at the church and to interact with the families during the evening hours. Arrive at approximately 7:30 PM and leave in the early AM. Families are encouraged to bring their children. At least one female overnight volunteer is needed (because of the predominant makeup of the participant families.)
Inter-Faith provides cots for volunteers but volunteers need to bring their own bedding.

Transportation

Volunteers Use their own cars to drive participant families to and from the day center. Times are early in the AM and late in the afternoon. Families will already have needed car seats for infants and children. All seat belt and car seat laws must be followed.

Child Care Volunteers
May be needed one evening per week while participant families are in meetings. Must have at least one adult volunteer. Teenagers and children are welcome to help.

Linen Laundering Volunteers
Provide weekly washing of sheets. Have a set day of the week. Families leave sheets outside their doors in the AM and sheets are returned to the same place by evening of the same day.

Moving In and Out Volunteers
The space to be used needs to be set up prior to the 1st of the month.
On the evening of the 1st day of your volunteer month, volunteers are needed to help get the cots set up.
On the evening of the 1st day of the month after your volunteermonth, volunteers are needed to transport the cots to the next host location.
