KEYSTONE OPPORTUNITY CENTER WELCOMES SPANISH SPEAKING COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE COORDINATOR

Keystone Opportunity Center is excited to announce the addition of a Spanish speaking Community Assistance Coordinator to its staff last month. Laura Lozano Calvo works with clients in Keystone’s Food Pantry, Housing Stability and Adult Education programs. Since Laura was hired, Keystone Opportunity Center has been able to share the Keystone resources as well as those of the community.

“Keystone Opportunity Center is proud to begin offering Spanish speaking community assistance services to the North Penn Community,” said Brandon Trombetta, Keystone’s Executive Director. “A main component to providing effective case management services is for our clients to feel comfortable when interacting with Keystone staff. Adding Laura to our staff offers community members who may not speak English fluently the opportunity to feel heard, connected with, and comfortable in accessing community services to help them become self-sufficient.”

Laura went to school for Social Work in Madrid, Spain where she is from and worked at a Women’s Center in London, England and at a Latino Social Service agency in Ohio. She now resides with her family in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and is very happy to take on this new role within Keystone Opportunity Center. “I am very thrilled to be working at Keystone Opportunity Center for the Spanish Community!” Laura said. “Thank you for this wonderful opportunity, and amazing people that I get to work with each and every day!”

Keystone’s Spanish speaking Community Assistance Coordinator position is funded for two years through a grant from the VNA Foundation of Greater North Penn.
